Ogrebane's Omnium-Gatherum Part 10E

SKIN WALKERS

I hope that's what they are called. I don't play circle so I'm not sure. Anyway I have finished their bases and placed them on. You really notice all the faults when you take a pic so I've found a few little tweaks and I want to put some flock and rubble on the bases but I will do that when I get all the minis together.

So here are the bases so far and the unit together. Let me know what you think.

These are done the same as the ones from the last post.

If I feel like it I might even give him the big dress the other Mulg has.

Comments welcome

Ogrebane's Omnium-Gatherum Part 11b

Torso

Another update. I have mostly done the torso. The legs are nearly finished I just need to do a wrap around the left leg then on to the arms. Positioning them will be fun but the back rock growth will be a bitch. I may just go buy the bits from PP.

More soon and as always feel free to comment.

Ogrebane's Omnium-Gatherum Part 10d

Bases

So in the last plog I showed you the display board I made for these guys. To keep the theme I also made a few extra casts of the Mayan Calenda thingy to use on the bases. SO I will go through a few of the bases and show you how I painted them.

Enjoy.

Broken cast of Mayan Calenda.
I used a 1.5mm drill and drilled holes around the outside of a marked circle. I then used the drill to link up all these holes and give me a rouch circular shape. I sanded this down till it fit inside the base but still retained a bit of the rough texture on the border.

The cut out pieces fitted to the base.

Undercoated white as I want to do a sandstone look.

I mixed these two colors but a dark flesh color wound have done.

washed with this color. 50/50 mix with water.

For some reason the white balance went with this pic. But this has 2 drybrush coats. a bit of green to look like moss and then a light wash on top and darker around the edge. The base still needs details like grass and gravel and the front arc painted but I like the result I have with this. The pic really doesnt show it properly.

With a couple of Argussi esesses ette whatever the plural is. A few minor bits to do on the dogs and I'll call them done.

So I like the bases. Not sure what color arc I will paint. Probably Grey but maybe yellow. I need and accent color to go with the other minis for loin clothes etc might do green but not sure yet.

Anyway as always feel free to comment more to come soon.

Ogrebane's Omnium-Gatherum Part 11a

A minor update. I have done a bit of work on the head and pinned the body for its final position. I need to shape the rock growths a bit more on the head and the stomach and surrounding muscles will need some work. Good thing I had a large tube of green stuff handy cause it sure is eating it up.

Here is a pic of Mulgs old head verses the new on for comparison. Sorry about the pic but I cant find the good camera.

And this is the start of his arm with the club. The club is made from an old no 11 brush.

As always comments are welcome.

Ogrebane's Omnium-Gatherum Part 11

EXTREME MULG

I think this one needs a new number

OK so trolls are my faction for this year's slow growth league and I want to use Mulg. The actual model is WAY too small so I'm going to make him out of the Extreme Mauler model. Now I know you've seen it before but I am going to try and put my spin on it. For instance I don't think the extreme sculpt is big enough so I will be extending the body and re-sculpting most of the legs.

Here is what Im starting with.

I will use the extreme head as well. Mulg's head is too small for this body.

I have made a mould of his left hand as I didn't like the idea of trying to open his fist to put a club in it so I hope that works out. Comments are welcome.

Ogrebane's Omnium-Gatherum Part 10c

Legends of winter whose the boss first place prize

So I got a little side tracked. When I was at winter retreat I came across a game with the Mayan Calendar on it. SO I too a mould as I was going to use this on the bases. Bit it was such a good cast I decided to make a display board for the minis as well. Heres a few wips.

This is the mould. I took these with my phone so the pics is crap.

A couple of casts in clear resin (my other resin is out of date I think. It bubbles)

This is it before I undercoated it. Once again my phone took this pic.

This is it undercoated. I already packed the minis away so I can show you how they look on the stand but I think it will look good once its painted.

So stand by for more updates as Im back at work tomorrow so I should have heaps of time to paint.

Ogrebane's Omnium-Gatherum Part 10b

Progress update. Im using a different camera so I cant quite get the color saturation right. And before you ask yes I check the white balane and these are as close as I can get them.

A girl and her dogs
Winter argus's fur isnt done and I havent done much with the caster. Its a very bad cast and the mould lines are a bitch on her. I want to do something more with the cloak (Next pic) but not sure what so till then I will leave it plain.

Skin walker back
The color isnt quite right here. It is alot more reddererer or 1 less er. I like this color for leather and I may do some more washes to change up a few of the panels.

A few small things to fix up on this guy and I will call him done. Some of the nails and horns need a little work especially where they meet flesh. I think the gold turned out ok Im trying to stay away from metalics on this paint job.
